  • Photocopies of the tariff duly signed by the consumer and witness.

  • After thorough verification of your credentials, you will get your demand notice.

  • If you want to install a connection in the name of your company or the case of two owners, you need to submit the power of attorney in favor of the applicant written the contract with the power distribution company.
  • Submit a copy of the incorporation certificate in case of a Private limited company.
  • Sitemap of the location where the connection is required and complete details including the address and  CNICs of the Board of Directors.
  • Provide NOC as per form 29 on the Company letterhead countersigned by the Board of Directors. NOC format is available on the website.
  • Charge certificate from Security and Exchange Commission.

Category – 1 Connection (Load up to 15 KW)

If your electricity connection falls under Category 1, then your mepco new connection requires 30 days to complete the process. The concerned SDO/AMO approves the provision of connection.

  • You will submit your application along with the requisite documents to your nearest office. The dealing assistant in the office will record your documents in a register maintained to issue seniority numbers.
  • The dealing officer will carry out a visit to your connection installation site to ascertain whether the connection is required or otherwise.
  • If the connection site is feasible, then the office will calculate the allocation of budget estimates for the project.
  • After budget estimation for your new connection, you can now collect demand notices either by hand or by post office.
  • After receiving your demand notice, you need to deposit the required fee in a designated bank and submit a copy to mepco.
  • you will submit a wiring test report to the office. Wire test is a process in which the officer/official concerned visits the connection area to ensure safety from risk and hazards.
  • The officer will issue the order for the provision of an electricity connection.
  • The office will arrange the necessary items and your electricity connection will installed.

Category – 2 Connection (Load 16 to 70 kW )

If your electricity connection falls under Category 2, the process takes 44 days to complete. The rest of the process of this category is the same as category-1.

Category – 3 Connection (Load 71 to 500 kW )

You will have to wait 73 days if your connection falls under category 3. The entire process of this category is also the same as both of the above categories. The time duration is counted from the date of registration of your application for a new connection till the date of installation of the electricity meter.

New Electricity Connection Fee

Mepco new connection demand notice fee depends upon many factors. Such as the type of electricity connection category and power distribution company. The new connection fee does not remain constant as it changes with the fluctuation in the electricity charges and taxes.
